earthquake!

We just had a magnitude 3.7 earthquake, which gave a pretty serious rattle to the cement apartment building I live in. The USGS says that the epicenter was only a kilometer away from where I live, in north Oakland along the Hayward Fault. The earthquake came about halfway through watching Donnie Darko in my apartment with the lights off, which is kind of appropriate, I guess, since the movie starts with what appears to be an earthquake (and turns out to be a jet engine falling onto the house).
