Free pakoras for voting

You know you live in Berkeley when your polling place is the International Society for Krishna Consciousness. Outside the building on Stuart Street are two huge white statues which look kind of like lions. The lobby, where you vote, is adorned with a huge banner commemorating the "40th anniversary of the Hare Krishna movement" and a display of books and informational materials in English and Spanish about Hare Krishna, the Bhagavad Gita, and the like. After you vote, you can help yourself to free vegetable pakoras, and a cup of sweet minty tea. Both were tasty.
