Finally, some pictures

This is the Gump Station (or part of it). The building on the right is a wet lab, and a dock for oceanography research is behind it. Gump is located on Cook Bay; periodically yachts and cruise ships pass through.
Across the street is the new lab building; I have a desk on the second floor. The director's residence is in the upper left, and behind that is Mt. Rotui (899 m). The director's residence is the old house of Richard Gump, a Cal alum who donated his land to his alma mater, which decided to build a research station on it.
This morning I went along a trail I had never been before. Here's Mt. Mouaroa (880 m) in the mist.
In case you didn't believe I was actually here, here I am, very happy that it stopped raining. Mt. Tamarutoofa (916 m, right, squared-off top) and Mt. Tohiea (1207 m, left, obscured by clouds) in the background.
