Urban legends

I heard a great urban legend today from a friend. The urban legend (which may have some basis in fact) is that there is a grad student in the Southeast Asian studies department who arrived here at Berkeley during the Vietnam War to write his thesis on the Vietnam War...and is still here, living near campus, doing a part-time job, and supposedly still working on his thesis...
